Effective February 1, Emirates have rerouted one of its three daily Dubai-Melbourne flights via Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This now means that passengers travelling from Europe now have another stopover option should they choose Emirates to fly Down Under.
Emirates will schedule its long-range A340-500 for the route which is fitted with suites in first class (configured 1-2-1) and reclining (although not fully flat seats) in business class (configured 2-2-2). Economy passengers will benefit as well because the seating configuration on the A340-500 is eight across (2-4-2) compared with a denser 10-across (3-4-3) layout found on the B777s which Emirates currently uses to Kuala Lumpur.
